Maria Mervyn: Director

Maria is the Director and Co-founder of Lifest HealthCare, having helped shape and grow the organisation over the past eight years. She has been instrumental in building a service that supports participants to live meaningful lives while fostering a strong, values-driven workplace culture.

With a professional background as an Occupational Nurse and experience across occupational health and safety in a range of sectors, Maria brings deep clinical knowledge and practical leadership to the disability space. She is passionate about enabling people to live with dignity, choice, and independence, and is committed to creating services that are person-centred, ethical, and sustainable.

Barbara Hansen

HR Partner

Barbara Hansen: HR Partner

Barbara is the HR Partner at Lifest HealthCare, bringing extensive experience across business operations and human resources. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business, postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource Management, Leadership and Coaching, and is a Member in Practice with the Australian HR Institute (AHRI).

In her role, Barbara provides practical and strategic guidance across all aspects of human resources, including policy development, performance management, workforce planning, and employee relations. She also delivers training and coaching to support a capable, engaged, and high-performing workforce aligned with Lifest HealthCare’s values.

Jessica Ballard

Jessica Ballard: Client Services & Quality Manager

Jessica joined Lifest HealthCare in 2021 and has progressed through several roles to now lead the Service Delivery team. With a background as a Registered Nurse, she brings strong clinical insight and a passion for ensuring continuity of care beyond acute and hospital settings.

Jessica is committed to high-quality, participant-centred service delivery and continuous improvement across client services. Her leadership focuses on quality, safety, and outcomes that genuinely support participants to live well in the community.

Lucy is the Area Co-ordinator for the South West region, bringing extensive experience across complex medical care, personal care, wound management, palliative care, high-care dementia, challenging behaviours, and mental health support.
She is passionate about supporting participants to work towards their individual goals and live their best possible daily lives. Lucy delivers care through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, ensuring participants feel safe, respected, and supported.

Lucy is the Area Co-ordinator for the South West region, bringing extensive experience across complex medical care, personal care, wound management, palliative care, high-care dementia, challenging behaviours, and mental health support.
She is passionate about supporting participants to work towards their individual goals and live their best possible daily lives. Lucy delivers care through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, ensuring participants feel safe, respected, and supported.

Angel leads Brisbane North operations at Lifest HealthCare, bringing over six years of experience within the NDIS sector. Having progressed from Disability Support Worker to Area Coordinator, Angel offers valuable “boots-on-the-ground” insight and a strong understanding of frontline service delivery.
With the ability to bridge practical care and operational efficiency, Angel ensures services are both well-coordinated and deeply impactful. Leadership is grounded in lived experience, strong organisation, and a commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for participants.

With a passion for engagement and connection, Georgia helps bring the Lifest brand to life while supporting the broader team through efficient administrative support.

Darcy: Office Wellbeing Ambassador

Darcy is Lifest HealthCare’s much-loved office companion and wellbeing ambassador. An English Staffy with a gentle nature and a big heart, Darcy visits the office weekly to bring calm energy, smiles, and the occasional reminder to take a break. 

Known for her friendly personality and love of pats, Darcy plays a special role in creating a welcoming and positive environment for staff and visitors alike — a reminder that wellbeing comes in many forms.

This support agency based in Springwood, Logan city offers wide variety of services to its participants and does so to a high standard.

It is well organised overall and services are delivered efficiently.

I’ve had some very good support workers in the past who were friendly, respectful, caring and reliable resulting in many good memories.

In one instance in a time of crisis a staff member went above and beyond to assist me.

In many instances different staff members have acted responsibly and been considerate of me when dealing with other parties such as chemists, hospitals etc.

And in other emergency situations management assisted and supported me

making sure my basic needs were met.

In general, I recommend this provider as it strives to assist its participants and provide quality services in a reliable and responsible manner.

I have had really good experience with theses lovely shine staff + carers they would help you a lot. I have changed ever since I came here, I have been more happy with myself and not because I grew up in a different lifestyle but because I was in foster care but when I got out and started to live with other people, they were not so nice, so when I came to the shine family all was loving and welcoming, I have such a special bond with everyone within the shine family, for one everyone is perfect, helpful, nice, supportive, and very caring, I have never seen such people being this kind to anyone and it’s been wonderful.

It has been great, they throw birthday parties for everyone at any age I had my first party when I moved in and it was wonderful, they also celebrate harmony day, Christmas, and easter, the shine family is a place to grow and have fun times, but with shine it’s the most magical magnificent place to be, they would always be kind and loving towards people ✨️ 💛 so I say Come and join the sweet loving shine family and bless the people who have helped me and others that have come.
