What you need to get started
To receive SIL funding, you must first be an eligible NDIS participant, and then the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Agency – NDIA) must assess SIL as a necessary support for you.
If you have more questions and need help to understand this better, do get in touch with us.
NDIS Eligibility for SIL
You need to be a NDIS Participant and meet the general requirements (age, residency, permanent disability).
Home & Living Goals: Ensure that your NDIS plan includes specific goals related to living independently.
High Support Needs: You must be assessed and confirmed to need ongoing support, paid assistance that cannot be met by family/friends or lower-level NDIS supports. This is often shared through reports like a Functional Assessment Report (FAR).
